From the NY Times’s “At War” Blog

So I wrote this back in March I believe. It was published yesterday. I’ve been overwhelmed by the emails and responses I have gotten from across the country. Thought I would share it with my farm buddies. Happy Memorial Day and pray for them all!

Please keep in mind that I never grew up on a farm, lived in the city or its suburbs all my life. Many farmers out there will find this blog a hoot as I stumble through the every day life of running a farm (most of the time...all by myself).

Amy, each of us NOT in your shoes have gained a much greater understanding of what soldiers and their families are going through thanks to your article. I have tears in my eyes and a prayer in my heart for you, for Joey and his bride and baby, and everyone else involved (including my cousin, who was transitioning to civilian life and then decided to re-up in the Army Rangers).
