Ok, here are a few pics of Mikey at 4H Camp this past week. Katie was there too but unfortunately her counselors and adult advisers haven’t sent pictures. So, I guess that means Mikey gets all the spotlight this time around.
Camp Brule is located near the “thriving metropolis” of Shunk in Sullivan County. Last year while driving there I almost hit a bear and her cub, a doe (two different times), and a flock of turkeys. This year I only had an encounter with one bear and one doe. The drive there is just beautiful if you are a nature/outdoors kind of person.
I am also posting some wildlife photos. Our neighbor recently saw a bear and a cub (last year’s cub) crossing our pasture. Just about every night during milking chores we see a doe and her fawn at the end of our one goat pasture. Not too long ago Mikey and Katie came across a fawn sleeping in the tall grass of our fields. Scared the crap out of him and Katie (and the fawn too!). There are also a group of 3 bucks running together in the area. I about whacked them with the car one day.
